'The Trinity (The Throne of Grace)', 1511. God the Father takes his son, Jesus Christ, into Heaven, while the dove of the Holy Spirit hovers overhead. On either side, angels hold the instruments of the Passion, including the cross, the scourges, the scourging post, and the sponge on a stick which was offered to Christ to quench his thirst when he was on the cross.
