Bas-relief frieze of wrestlers, c500 BC. The Panathenaia, a state religious festival dedicated to Athena, was held every four years and included Drama, Music and Athletics. The Atheltics element formed Panathenaic Games, precursor of the Olympic Games. From the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.
