Palace of Saint-Cloud, Paris, France, 1875. The residence of several French rulers, the Palace of Saint-Cloud near the River Seine was built in 1572 and destroyed by fire in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War. In 1804, Napoleon proclaimed the French Empire at Saint-Cloud.
