'Mount Tabor', 19th century. Mt Tabor, or Har Tavor, is 17 km west of the Sea of Galilee. It is traditionally believed to have been the site of the Transfiguration when Jesus took disciples Peter, James, and John to a high mountain: And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light.
