'Before Ladysmith', 1899. British horse artillery under attack from the Boers, galloping to take up a new position. During the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902) Ladysmith was under siege by the Boers from 2 November 1899 to 28 February 1900. The siege was relieved by forces under General Redvers Buller.
