Cuthbert Collingwood, 1st Baron Collingwood, British admiral of the Royal Navy, 19th century. Cuthbert Collingwood (1748-1810) entered the Navy in 1761. He was Nelson's second in command at the Battle of Trafalgar, and assumed command of the Mediterranean fleet after Nelson's death. Collingwood died at sea in 1810 without returning home.
