Colonel Noah Lane Farnham, American soldier, (1872). Union soldier Farnham (1829-1861) was killed at the Battle of Bull Run. The First Battle of Bull Run, also known as the First Battle of Manassas, took place on July 21, 1861, and was the first major land battle of the American Civil War.
