Lieutenant Colonel James Haggerty, American soldier, (1872). Haggerty, a Union soldier, was killed at the Battle of Bull Run on 21 July 1861. The First Battle of Bull Run, also known as the First Battle of Manassas, was the first major land battle of the American Civil War.
