Workman says: Well, Betsy, If They Won't Let Us Get Any Refreshment O'Sunday Out O'Doors - We Must Lay In A Stock, And Drink At Home, Like The Pious Scotch! The MP, Mr Somes, introduced a Bill that proposed that all public houses should be closed all day Sunday. Resistance came from both 'patrician champagne and plebian beer'.
