'A Civil Deputation to the Home Office', 1867. A grateful costermonger heads a deputation standing outside the Home Office to thank the Home Secretary, Mr Hardy, for all he has done for them. This relates to a small item in Punch's Essence of Parliament which says that, 'Our friend the Costermonger has been kingly treated in Parliament, and we think that a Deputation of Costermongers ought to go to Mr Hardy (giving him notice, that he may get some cotton for his ears) and bellow their most affectionate gratitude. From Punch, or the London Charivari, December 7, 1867.
