'Antoinette' monoplane of French aviator Hubert Latham, (1883-1912), c1910. In 1909 Latham made two unsuccessful attempts in his Antoinette to become the first to fly across the English Channel, being beaten to the honour by Louis Bleriot. From a series of cigarette cards on aviation issued c1910.
