Henry Harley Arnold (1886-1950), American air force officer, 1941-1944. Hap Arnold (left) was Chief of US Army Air Forces throughout World War II. During the war he was a strong advocate of the policy of strategic bombing. He is pictured with British Field Marshal John Dill during World War II.
