Constellation of the Pleiades (Seven Sisters), c1890. 3 1/2 hour exposure using a 5 inch aperture portrait lens. The Pleiades, 380 light years distant from Earth, is an open cluster of young stars. The seven brightest stars are easily visible with the naked eye, but the cluster actually consists of hundreds of stars.
