Death of General James Wolfe at the Siege of Quebec, 1759 (c1870). James Wolfe (1727-1759), English soldier, lies dying on the Heights of Abraham as Quebec is captured from the French on 13 September 1759. Wolfe survived long enough to hear that his attack on the city had been successful. The French also lost their commander, General Montcalm.
