Joseph Bonaparte (1768-1844) c1830. Joseph Bonaparte was the brother of Napoleon I, Emperor of France. After a career as a lawyer, diplomat and soldier, he was appointed by Napoleon to rule as King of Naples and Sicily (1806-1808), and King of Spain (1808-1813).
