Part of Old London Bridge, c1600. Part of the bridge originally built between 1176 and 1209, showing the waterwheels of the Southwark corn mills built on the Surrey side of the Thames in c1588. By the gap in the buildings on the left is Southwark or Traitors' gate (1577-1579) with heads of executed traitors placed on poles.
