Excalibur being reclaimed by the Lady of the Lake, 1893. A hand emerging from the lake to reclaim Excalibur, the sword which, according to legend, the young Arthur pulled from the stone to prove he was the rightful king. The sword was returned to the lake upon Arthur's death. From Thomas Malory's Le Morte Darthur.
