Mutiny of the crew of HMS 'Bounty', 28 April 1789. Lieutenant William Bligh (1754-1817), English naval officer and his 18 companions cast adrift in a longboat by Fletcher Christian and the 'Bounty' mutineers. With few supplies and no charts, after a voyage of 4000 miles and great privations, Bligh and his companions landed on Timor on 14 June 1789.
