In the main panel the Archangel Michael shields the blessed while the Devil (Lucifer) tempts the damned. Vignettes around the edge depict the rewards for goodness and evil: Chastity, Marriage, Motherhood, and Happiness, or Lust, Rejection, Distress of the unmarried mother, Suicide in desperation.
