Statue of Ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tuthmosis III, Luxor, 18th Dynasty, 15th century BC. Tuthmosis (Thutmose) III ruled Egypt from 1479-1426 BC, initially with his aunt, Hatshepsut, as regent and then co-ruler. The statue depicts him holding two ankhs, the Egyptian symbol of life, across his chest.
