Jerry having his hand read by a gypsy, c1828. Jerry takes a break from a hunt to have his hand read told by a pretty gypsy while Logick leans on a fence. In the gypsy encampment an iron stewpot hangs over a fire while, in the foreground, turnips are peeled and cut up. To the right an old gipsy woman gestures to men to hide a bird they have poached. Illustration by (Isaac) Robert Cruikshank for Pierce Egan's The Adventures of Tom, Jerry and Logick. (London, c1828).
