Rufus Daniel Isaacs, British lawyer and statesman, c1902. Isaacs (1860-1935) in his chambers when he was an eminent King's Counsel (KC), but before he entered Parliament in 1904 as Liberal member for Reading. Isaacs was created 1st Marquess of Reading in 1926. He was Lord Chief Justice of England (1913-1921), Ambassador to the US (1918-1919), Viceroy of India (1921-1926), and Foreign Secretary (1931).
