The royal house of Macedon which lasted from the 9th century BC-4th century BC had royal tombs at Vergina, Macedonia, Greece, site of the ancient city of Aigai. Alexander the Great (356 BC-323 BC), Alexander III from 336 BC, was the most famous member of the Argead dynasty. From the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki.
