William Bligh, British naval officer received hospitably by the Governor of Timor, 14 June 1789 (1802). Bligh (1754-1817) and his companions after their voyage of about 4000 miles in an open longboat in which they had been cast adrift by Fletcher Christian and his 'Bounty' mutineers on 28 April 1789.
