Manicheel tree (Hippomane mancinella) or Poison Guava, c1795. This tree, native to the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, has fruits with an inviting appearance which are very poisonous. Spanish Conquistadors died after eating the fruit, and the Carib Indians used the sap to produce poisoned arrows.
