Manufacturing electric light bulbs, c1883 (1896). A mercury vacuum pump being used to evacuate (exhaust) light bulbs on a commercial scale. The pump being used is Geissler's as modified by Topler and was the type used by the Swan Company. From Electricity in the Service of Man by R Wormell. (London, 1896).
