Armour Company's pig slaughterhouse, Chicago, Illinois, USA, 1892. One of the earliest production lines. Pigs were killed at the top of the building, then were processed before emerging at the bottom as finished carcasses. Processes shown (left to right): hitching up live beasts; slaughtering and bleeding; scalding carcasses.
