Discovery of iguanodon fossils, Bernissart, Belgium, 1878 (c1880). 39 skeletons of the herbivorous dinosaur were discovered in a coal mine by Jules Creteur and his workmates. The discovery of the remains of so many skeletons so close together was evidence that some types of dinosaurs were herd animals.
