Samuel Wilberforce, English prelate, 1873. The third son of the anti-slavery campaigner William Wilberforce (1759-1833), Samuel Wilberforce (1805-1873) was appointed Bishop of Oxford in 1845 and Bishop of Winchester in 1869.
