'Southwark Bridge from Bank Side', London, 1817. John Rennie's (1761-1821) cast iron bridge over the Thames at Southwark, viewed from the South Bank looking towards St Paul's Cathedral. Built between 1814 and 1819, the ironwork was cast by Walker's of Rotherham who also cast the Sunderland bridge. This bridge was replaced in 1922. Illustration for Metropolitan Improvements. (London, 1817).
