'English Landscape with Cottage and Stream', 1860. A woman, five children and a dog wait at the edge of a river on a sunny day. Behind them, set amongst trees, is a cottage with a tiled roof. The boys are 'fishing' at the water's edge as the whole group waits for the ferry (centre) to arrive. It is probably a scene on the river Thames which was one of Williams' favourite subjects.
