Model of the barge of the Lord Mayor of London, 1807. This large model of the municipal barge shows its similarity to Thames skiffs. The actual barge was 25 metres long and would have been rowed by 18 oarsmen. Finely detailed in its decoration, it was used for the last time in the Lord Mayor's procession in 1856, ending a 400-year-old tradition. The barge and this model were both made by Searle & Godfrey.
