Seal of St Bartholomew's Hospital, (c12th century?). This impression of the early official seal of the hospital shows a figure of St Bartholomew with his hand raised in blessing. St Bartholomew's Hospital was founded in 1123 by Rahere after he had a vision of the saint. The hospital, in Smithfield, London, is still operating today.
