Suffragette advertising a march supporting votes for women, Strand, London, c1909. The march was to start at the Victoria Embankment, followed by a public meeting for which the greatest number of free tickets for such an event were issued, according to her apron/poster. Emmeline Pankhurst, the most famous of the movement's heroines, often spoke at such events.
