Bluebird K7 at Coniston Water, Cumbria, 1958. The Bluebird had set a record of 239.07 mph at Coniston in November 1957. It's seen here before a new attempt at the world speed record. A new world water speed record of 248.62mph was achieved on the 10th November 1958. Leo Villa stands on the jetty. He was an engineer and mechanic, and was with Donald and Malcolm Campbell on all their Bluebird record attempts.
