Alberto Ascari, Froilan Gonzalez, Guiseppe Farina (from left to right), and a mechanic. Ascari won every Grand Prix in 1952, and didn't lose a race until the middle of 1953. He performed the unrepeated feat of winning nine straight Grands Prix. Jose Froilan Gonzalez had the unusual distinction of winning the first Championship Grand Prix he entered, the 1951 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, in which he drove a Ferrari. Farina won the first official Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship in 1950, winning three Grands Prix in the process, driving for Alfa Romeo.
