1901 Columbia Electric car. The electric car had a certain popularity at the turn of the century. Because it was silent and fumeless, this car was bought by Queen Alexandra for driving around the grounds of Sandringham House. It is fitted with a foot-operated bell instead of a horn. RGJ Nash acquired it for his collection at Brooklands in the 1930s, he later drove it regularly while petrol was rationed.
