The dinner was held at the Kedassia Restaurant on 12 May 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Agudas Israel World Organisation. The guest of honour was Mr MJ Gross, an Agudist member of the Knesset, and the function was organised by the Zeirei Agudas Israel in London. The Hebrew word Agudah means gathering or union.
