In October 1954 the house was bought by the B'nai B'rith (Hillel) Foundation for the promotion of the educational and religious welfare of Jewish students. The organisation has helped students from Israel, Hungary, North Africa and Britain to obtain scholarships. Students from almost every Jewish community in the world enjoyed kosher meals here.
