John Home, Scottish poet and dramatist, (1870). Home's (1722-1808) best known work is Douglas, a tragedy first performed in Edinburgh in 1756. An engraving from Robert Chambers' A Biographical Dictionary of Eminent Scotsmen, Blackie and Son, (Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London, 1870).
