The Bristol Riots of 1831, (1893). The Bristol Riots of 1831, 1893. Large-scale riots broke out in Bristol in 1831 sparked by the House of Lords rejection of the Reform Bill. The disturbances lasted for three days and numerous buildings were set on fire. Troops were sent in and it is estimated that several hundred people were killed.
