Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Africa, c1890. Scottish missionary and explorer David Livingstone (1813-1873) was the first European to see the great falls on the River Zambezi in 1855. Livingstone named the falls for Queen Victoria.
