Tsar Nicholas II and his children sitting on a greenhouse, Tobolsk, Siberia, Russia, 1917. Compelled to abdicate in the wake of the February Revolution, Nicholas and the Royal family were exiled to Siberia. They were murdered by their Bolshevik guards at Yekaterinburg on 17 July 1918.
