'The Siege of Sebastopol', 1854-1855 (c1850s). During the Crimean War (Russo-Turkish War) 1853-1856, Russian troops were besieged by the British and French at Sevastopol (Sebastopol) from 17 October 1854 to 8-9 September 1855. The city finally fell and the Russians blew up the forts and magazines before they marched out on 11 September.
