Bette Davis, American actress, 1933. Davis (1908-1989) was a two-time Academy Award-winning actress of film, television and theatre. One of the Hollywood greats, her acting career lasted from the 1930s until the 1980s and in 1977 she became the first woman to receive the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award.
