Raoul Walsh, American film director, 1933. Walsh's (1887-1980) directorial career began in 1914 and spanned 52 years. Amongst his films is 'The Big Trail' (1930) which starred the then unknown John Wayne. Walsh directed some of Hollywood's greatest actors, including Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney.
