The Cenotaph, Whitehall, London, 1921. Wreaths have been laid around the newly-built Cenotaph in Whitehall, and small groups of people pay their respects. A policeman stands guard. The Cenotaph was designed by Lutyens in 1919-20 as the national memorial to the war dead.
