Front of the Empire Theatre from the fountain, Leicester Square, London, 1887. From 1887 the Empire was a famous music hall, with Lydia Kyasht one of its stars, billed here as 'Europe's greatest dancer'. The theatre was replaced by the Empire Cinema in 1927-8.
