St Pancras Hotel (Midland Grand Hotel), built to Sir George Gilbert Scott's designs in Italianate Gothic style, 1868-74. St Pancras Station is also visible, stretching from right to left behind the hotel. The scene is virtually deserted apart from a queue of carriages parked alongside the hotel waiting for hire.
