Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, City of London, 1910, viewed from Holborn Viaduct. The dome of the Court building is topped by a figure holding a sword and a set of scales, representing justice.The present building, designed by Mountford and opened in 1907, is on the site of the former Newgate Prison. A court has been situated in the area since the 16th century.
